Samuel Raymond Christian School

“Miss Deborah, we need a school back here. And you’re the one to do it.”

After lots of “yeah rights” and “maybes” and “okay, God, let’s do this” moments, Samuel Raymond Christian School was started in a small Sandy Bay community. We’re now in our tenth year of classes and are amazed at how God continues to grow this special school.

What makes SRCS unique are its location and our educational philosophy. We’re in the heart of the Sandy Bay Car Wash neighborhood, where ninety percent of the children who attend the school live. It’s really a partnership between the teachers and the parents – a whole community effort. We are truly blessed to be able to minister alongside so many parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles who want to see their children succeed. We utilize the A.C.E. curriculum, which allows each child to work at his or her own level. Students who find learning easy are able to keep pushing forward and students who struggle are able to do their lessons at a slower pace, allowing them to master a subject before moving on.

We currently offer classes through ninth grade.

We know Christ is the One who changes lives. We know a quality education can be a huge factor in stopping or reversing cycles of injustice, poverty, and violence. We believe a Christian education can transform a life and offer hope to individual children, their families, their communities, this island, and the nation of Honduras. This is the work the Lord has given us in Roatan. We can’t wait to see how God will work in the lives the boys and girls of Samuel Raymond Christian School!
